Treatment Modes

CAPD

CAPD users can set their exchange count, wake-up time, sleep time, and reminder preferences. The Home dashboard focuses on today's treatment schedule, showing the active exchange, completed exchanges, missed or overdue exchanges, and the next upcoming exchange.

CAPD logging includes:

  • Drain and fill volumes.
  • Fluid appearance.
  • Fibrin tracking.
  • Dialysate concentration.
  • Optional blood glucose and IP insulin fields for users with diabetes.
  • Daily wellbeing, symptoms, blood pressure, pulse, weight, urine output, fluid intake, and notes.
  • Exit-site checks with symptom flags, notes, and optional photos.

CAPD also includes supply tracking for dialysate, minicaps, and drain/tubing sets, with low-stock alerts and estimated days remaining where recent usage is available.

CCPD

CCPD users can set their cycler type, connect and disconnect times, cycles, fill volume, last fill, therapy length, and reminder preferences. The Home dashboard centers on bedtime setup and morning review.

CCPD logging includes:

  • Bedtime setup time.
  • Pre-treatment weight, blood pressure, pulse, and optional blood glucose.
  • Optional IP insulin.
  • Cycler settings for the treatment.
  • Solution bags by concentration, volume, and count.
  • Morning review values such as initial drain, total UF, fill/drain totals, cycles completed, dwell changes, alarm count, drain/fill pain, effluent appearance, fibrin, and notes.
  • Daily wellbeing, symptoms, vitals, weight, urine output, fluid intake, and notes.
  • Exit-site checks with symptom flags, notes, and optional photos.

CCPD also includes supply tracking for dialysate bags, cassette/tubing sets, drain bags, and minicaps, with low-stock status.

In-Center Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis support is focused on in-center treatment and user-entered records. Users can set treatment days, chair time, target weight, access type, access location, and reminder preferences.

HD treatment logs include:

  • Treatment date and status: completed, ended early, or missed.
  • Pre- and post-treatment weight.
  • Pre- and post-treatment blood pressure and pulse.
  • Target weight snapshot.
  • UF removed.
  • Optional blood glucose for users with diabetes.
  • Symptoms such as cramps, dizziness, nausea, headache, fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling, and chest pain.
  • Access concerns such as prolonged bleeding, pain, redness, swelling, warmth, drainage, no thrill or vibration, dressing concerns, and notes.

HD also includes a Care tab with treatment routine, access details, reminder settings, and a between-session diary. Diary entries can track blood pressure, pulse, weight, fluid intake, symptoms, medication notes, and general notes.

History and Reports

Each treatment mode has a History tab with day and range views. Users can review recent treatment records, trends, symptoms, and clinical details from the data they entered.

For care visits or personal records, DiaLog can generate local PDF history reports. Reports are created only when the user chooses to prepare and share them.

Reminders

DiaLog can schedule optional local reminders for treatment routines. Medication reminders are also available when enabled in onboarding or Profile.

Medication reminders support:

  • Everyday schedules.
  • Every-other-day schedules.
  • Specific weekday schedules.
  • Pause and resume.
  • Duplicate prevention for the same medication at the same time on overlapping days.
  • Clear recovery guidance when iOS notification permission is disabled.

Reminders are convenience tools only and are not intended for emergencies or clinical decisions.

Privacy and Data Protection

DiaLog is designed around local-only storage. Health records stay on the user's device unless the user chooses to export or share them.

Privacy features include:

  • No account.
  • No cloud sync.
  • No iCloud or CloudKit health-data sync.
  • No analytics.
  • No ads.
  • No third-party tracking.
  • Face ID or device passcode protection.
  • Local PDF report generation.
  • User-controlled backup export and import.

Encrypted Backups

DiaLog can create an encrypted .dialogbackup file. The user chooses a backup password and saves the file somewhere safe, such as iCloud Drive or another storage location they control.

Backups may include profile information, treatment settings, treatment records, reminder preferences, legal agreement status, and exit-site photos. Importing a backup replaces the current DiaLog data with the backup contents.

DiaLog cannot recover forgotten backup passwords.
